Parallel Nationalisms lecture led by Professor Andrew Meyer

Parallel Nationalisms compares the life and works of two seminal political leaders of the late 19th and early 20th centuries: Dr. Sun Yat-sen (1866-1925) and Theodor Herzl (1860-1904). 


Andrew Meyer studied East Asian Studies at Brown University (BA 1989) and East Asian Languages and Civilization at Harvard (PhD 1999). He lived, taught, and studied for five years in Taiwan, mainland China, and Japan. His publications include The HuananziA Guide to the Theory and Practice of Government in Han China. (co-authored, Columbia 2010) and The Dao of the Military: Liu An's Art of War (Columbia 2012).  Professor Meyer’s articles can be found in anthologies and scholarly journals. He currently holds the rank of Professor of History at Brooklyn College, the City University of New York.
